Distinct golden color, almost Sauternes-like color due to the skin contact. An expressive, aromatic chardonnay- lychee, passionfruit and beeswax. Zippy acidity underlying a surprisingly broad palate structure with a slightly pithy aspect from the skin contact.
Inspired by the winemaking practiced in the Friuli region of Italy, our Amphora Chardonnay has spent 11 months on the skins in Amphorae, without the addition of yeast or SO2. This process seems to have turned up the volume on the aromatics with notes of beeswax, feijoa, white flowers and a hint of honey on the nose. On the palate, the wine is fresh, layered, and textured with a refreshing pithiness on the finish.
