Tasting Notes Open/Close

Bright, lifted aromatics of red cherry, bay leaf, and thyme introduce a Grenache that beautifully captures the freshness of the San Luis Obispo Coast. The palate unfolds with notes of orange rind and tangerine peel, adding energy and complexity to the vibrant red fruit profile. Chalky tannins, lively natural acidity, and a subtle mineral backbone provide structure and length, resulting in a balanced wine that is equally enjoyable now or after 3 to 5 years in the cellar.

Pair with herb-crusted lamb chops or mushroom pappardelle with thyme and Parmesan.

Vineyard Notes Open/Close
Sourced predominantly from Morro View Vineyard, with approximately 15% Estate fruit, this Grenache showcases the character of the cool-climate San Luis Obispo Coast. Morro View, located about a mile down the road, was planted in the mid-1990s and shares a similar terroir with our Estate Grenache, delivering bold, spicy flavors and excellent varietal expression. Its close proximity to the coast provides a consistent marine layer that cools the vineyard and allows for extended hang time. The fruit was destemmed and gently pump-overs were performed during fermentation. The wine was aged in neutral puncheons to preserve freshness and was bottled 14 months after harvest.
