Our 2022 Syrah opens with an inviting bouquet of black plum and ripe boysenberry, enriched by layers of black pepper and the warmth of sandalwood. On the palate, plush notes of dark fruit are beautifully complemented by hints of warm spices and a hint of Madagascar vanilla. The mid-palate showcases a lush fruit core, balanced by fine-grained tannins and a precise, focused structure. Its lingering acidity and elegant finish suggest excellent aging potential, promising to evolve gracefully over the years
A perfect pairing for this Syrah includes a succulent grilled flat iron steak and a rich potato gratin.
Our San Luis Obispo Coast Syrah is predominantly made from our estate, but we also source some of the fruit from a handful of local vineyards within five miles. Inspired by the cooler climate syrahs of the Northern Rhone, we co-ferment with a small amount of estate-grown viognier that we have inter-planted among our syrah blocks to contribute floral lift and aromatic complexity.
