Winemaking update
With about 85% of the fruit now in, we’re nearing the close of the 2025 harvest. The vineyards are almost ready for a well-earned rest, while in the cellar fermentations are still bubbling, tanks are being pressed, and the first young wines are beginning to reveal their character. Soon, these wines will be guided into barrel to rest and evolve until it’s time to bottle.
This stage of harvest is both exciting and reflective. We can already sense the personality of the vintage taking shape, even as the last clusters wait to be picked. Every season brings its own challenges and surprises, and 2025 is already showing signs of being a remarkable vintage, one that will be remembered for its balance and quality.
We’re excited to share Our Estate Sparkling Wine along with the 2024 Malene Estate Rosé of Grenache, returning just in time for the holidays. Crafted from 60% Chardonnay and 40% Pinot Noir, the sparkling was picked early for freshness, whole-cluster pressed, aged sur lie for 11 months, and then spent two years en tirage. Disgorged in May with a minimal dosage, it shines in a bright, extra brut style. Refined and celebratory, it is accompanied this year by a Chamisal-branded Champagne bouchon to preserve every bubble.
We are grateful to share another year with you and invite you to visit us at the estate with family and friends for our final celebrations of 2025. Join us for the Winter Club Open House Release Event on Saturday and Sunday, November 1 and 2, or raise a glass at our annual Noon Year’s Eve gathering on December 31. Both occasions are the perfect way to toast the season and welcome the year ahead together.
