Bright notes of white florals and coastal breeze lead into a focused core of Meyer lemon pith and toasted almond. The palate is layered and textured, balancing richness and precision. A gentle thread of ocean salinity carries the finish, adding both length and lift. This is the most thoughtful and complex Chardonnay in the portfolio, distinguished by its depth and purity.
Pairs lovely with Dungeness crab or lobster, as well as rich white fish such as halibut.
Chamise is our flagship Chardonnay. We began making this wine in 2008 with a single barrel. It still remains a very small lot. Sourced from Morrito Hill, Clone 75 and a new favorite block, A3 with Mount Eden Clone. Over nearly 50 years of farming vines at Chamisal, we have developed an intimate knowledge of our site. Chamise represents the use of that knowledge to find the best combination of soil, microclimate, clonal material and winemaking to create a truly great Chardonnay.
