Bright aromas of citrus blossom, Honeycrisp apple, and lemon meringue lead to a smooth, balanced palate. Notes of preserved Meyer lemon, fresh meringue, and lemon oil meld with hints of toasted almond. Flinty minerality adds depth, while extended lees contact and integrated oak create a seamless, focused finish. A serious, textural wine with impressive length and complexity.
Pairs lovely with Dungeness crab or lobster, as well as rich white fish such as halibut.
Chamise is our flagship Chardonnay. We began making this wine in 2008 with a single barrel. It still remains a very small lot, typically from a single block in our Estate Vineyard. Over nearly 50 years of farming vines at Chamisal, we have developed an intimate knowledge of our site. Chamise represents the use of that knowledge to find the best combination of soil, microclimate, clonal material and winemaking to create a truly great Chardonnay.
