The nose features notes of dark chocolate shavings, blackberry, fresh cracked black pepper and a hint of bacon fat. On the palate, notes of savory herbs mingle with fresh bright briary fruit, plum and violets. The wine features fresh acidity and tight-grained tannins that are soft and pleasantly grippy.
Our Edna Valley Syrah is predominantly made from our estate, but we also source some of the fruit from a handful of local vineyards within five miles. Inspired by the cooler climate Syrahs of the Northern Rhone, we co-ferment with a small amount of estate-grown viognier that we have inter-planted among our Syrah blocks to contribute floral lift and aromatic complexity.
