Grapefruit, jasmine, and young strawberry lead the way. Bright acidity and a soft, textured palate keep things lively. A little lees contact and partial malolactic fermentation help tame that crunchy coastal snap, while just a kiss of new oak adds lift, complexity, and a long, easy finish.
Perfect with chilled shrimp, fresh crab, or a simple Niçoise salad on a sunny afternoon.
This Grenache was grown and picked with our Estate Rosé in mind, harvested on October 11. We pressed the whole clusters on a gentle cycle, giving the juice about three hours of skin contact—just enough for that pale, beach‑sunset color. Fermentation took place in large French oak puncheons, with a touch of new oak for lift. The wine went through partial malolactive fermentation to soften the natural acidity and play nicely with the lees from barrel ferment. It rested on those lees for five months before we blended and bottled in March.
These grapes come from both Tierra Sandy Loam and Salinas Clay Loam – low to moderate vigor soils that produce vines with balanced canopy and fruit growth. Capable of producing very high-quality wines that can be enjoyed young.
