Winemaking update
We’ve poured our love, time, and attention into the vineyard all season long, and now our focus shifts to preparing for the 2025 grape harvest. As veraison sweeps through the vineyard and ripening accelerates, we’re walking blocks daily, tasting berries, monitoring sugar levels, and dialing in our picking plans, variety by variety. In the cellar, tanks are being prepped, equipment serviced, and floors scrubbed spotless in anticipation of the first fruit arrival.
This time of year also marks the arrival of our harvest interns, an energetic crew from around the globe who come to share in the magic of vintage. They bring curiosity, hard work, and new perspectives, and in return, they gain hands-on experience and a deep connection to our craft. Harvest is a true test of endurance: long days, constant cleaning, and plenty of hose wrangling, but it’s also a season rich with purpose and camaraderie.

Every vintage leaves its mark, and each harvest teammate adds their unique fingerprint to the wines we create. Their grit and heart continually inspire me, and I’m endlessly grateful for what they bring to the table.
We kick off the season with our annual Sparkling Wine Toast, raising a glass of our Chamisal Estate Sparkling Cuvée to honor the hard work ahead and the wines yet to come. Here’s to Harvest 2025. Let’s do this!
