Winemaking update
As we get ready for summer along the coast, we’re excited to share this season’s release and continue welcoming you into the next chapter of our rosé program at Chamisal Vineyards. Inside this release, you’ll find our Chamisal Estate Rosé, crafted exclusively from estate fruit and rooted entirely in the character of the Chamisal Vineyard. While many of you first came to know and love this style of rosé through Malene, the wine has always been connected to Chamisal and our coastal winemaking philosophy. This transition allows us to focus more intentionally on a single rosé that fully reflects the place, farming, and vineyard expression that define our estate.
As we thoughtfully evaluated our portfolio, we recognized that concentrating our efforts on a single estate-grown rosé would allow us to elevate both the quality and the expression of the wine. Though the Malene label is being retired, the bright energy, freshness, and food-friendly style that made those wines so beloved continue to live on here at Chamisal.
The current vintage captures everything we love about summer on the Central Coast. Aromas of citrus blossom, white peach, and wild strawberry lift from the glass, while vibrant acidity and a soft mineral texture carry through the palate. A small amount of lees aging adds dimension and balance, creating a rosé that feels equally suited for an afternoon by the coast or a long dinner shared outdoors with friends.
As part of your membership, we encourage you to explore the full range of wines available for customization this season, from our crisp Chardonnays to the beautifully layered Califa Pinot Noir. Summer is one of our favorite times to gather, open bottles, and share meals, and we hope these wines find their way into many of those moments for you.
Thank you for continuing to be part of the Chamisal community and for allowing us to share this evolution with you. We look forward to welcoming you back to the estate this summer.
