winemaking update
When I shared news of our unusually early harvest back in September, we were just beginning to see what the 2026 vintage had in store. Now, with the last of the fruit brought in and harvest behind us, I’m happy to report that this has been an exceptional year for Chamisal.
Our team couldn’t be more pleased with the quality of fruit we’ve brought into the winery. The wines are showing beautiful concentration, vibrant acidity, and the balance we work so hard to achieve in the vineyard. There’s still plenty of work ahead, but for now, it’s rewarding to see the results of an entire growing season safely tucked away in the cellar.
And while the 2026 vintage begins its journey in the cellar, we’re turning our attention to a few wines I’ve been looking forward to sharing with you. Your November release features one of our most anticipated wines of the year, the 2024 Morrito Pinot Noir, alongside the return of member favorite, Luminary Sparkling, and our 2024 SLO Coast Estate Syrah. It’s a lineup we’re particularly proud to share, and one I hope finds its way to your table as you gather with family and friends this holiday season.
Speaking of the holidays, I hope you’ll find time to visit us in SLO. We’d love to welcome you back to the estate, whether it’s to enjoy a tasting, pick up a few bottles for holiday gatherings, or simply spend an afternoon with us. And if you can’t make the trip, I hope you’ll join me for our upcoming Virtual Conversation via Zoom. Pour yourself a glass of your favorite Chamisal wine and settle in as I share a behind-the-scenes look at this year’s harvest, from the challenges and surprises along the way to what makes the 2026 vintage so promising.
As we close out another year, thank you for being part of the Chamisal family. Your continued support means so much to all of us, and we’re grateful to share these wines and the stories behind them with you.
