Winemaking Update

The first hints of spring are beginning to move through the vineyard, bringing a sense of renewal to both the estate and the cellar. Pruned canes stand ready for the growing season ahead, cover crops sway in the coastal breeze, and the quiet pace of winter gives way to the anticipation of another vintage. Inside the winery, the young wines from 2025 continue their steady refinement, settling and revealing more of their character with each tasting. This moment between seasons always feels like a bridge from what has just been crafted to what is about to unfold, and it is a pleasure to share that transition with you.

With the arrival of Spring comes a pair of new Chardonnay releases from the 2024 and 2023 vintages, each shaped by the coastal influence that defines our estate. The SLO Coast Estate Chardonnay highlights the clarity and brightness of our windswept site, offering citrus lift, saline freshness, and a lively texture that reflects the energy of the season. In contrast, the 2023 Chamise Chardonnay draws its personality from extended time on lees and the distinctive soils and exposure of the Chamise blocks, resulting in a wine with layered depth, gentle richness, and a calm, confident presence.

I am also pleased to offer the return of a member favorite, the 2023 SLO Coast Pinot Noir. Silky and expressive, with red fruit, spice, and the unmistakable imprint of our coastal climate, this limited re release serves as a reminder of why it remains such a cherished part of our portfolio. It is a graceful companion to early spring meals and a welcome addition to the collection.

For our 4 bottle members, we are also bringing back the 2023 SLO Coast Estate Grenache. Bright, lifted, and beautifully textured, this wine showcases the vibrant side of our coastal growing region and adds a distinctive note to the spring release.

A New Way to Explore our Estate

Vineyard Tour & Tasting
Experience available May 1 – October 31 Thursday – Saturday at 10:00 am
120-minute experience

Beginning in May, we invite you to join us for one of our most immersive offerings: a guided exploration of the estate that brings you closer to the land, the wines, and the story behind them. Your experience begins in the vineyard, where you will set out in our allterrain limo golf cart for a scenic tour led by a seasoned hospitality associate.

Along the way, you will learn about the history of Chamisal Vineyards, the evolution of the estate, and the soils that shape our wines. As we wind through the property, the surrounding Santa Lucia Mountains and rolling Edna Valley hills create a backdrop worth capturing, so we encourage you to bring your camera.

The tour concludes with a curated tasting paired with a locally crafted lunch from an artisan purveyor. Settle in, enjoy the wines, and take in the landscapes that make this corner of the SLO Coast so distinctive.
