Our Califa Pinot Noir jumps out of the glass with bright notes of cherry, strawberry and violets accented by notes of sandalwood and cedar. On the palate, the wine is focused and fresh with fine-grained tannins, juicy acidity and a lithe finish that lingers on the palate.
Chamisal was the first vineyard planted in the Edna Valley, just outside the city of San Luis Obispo, in 1973. Over forty years of farming this magical slice of California’s Central Coast, we have developed an intimate knowledge of our terroir down to the blocks and rows that make up our estate. Our Califa bottlings come from sites that we consider to be our “Premier Cru” sections of the vineyard with optimal soils and clonal selections. “Califa” is the name we have bestowed on these stunning wines to distinguish them as outstanding expressions of some of our most treasured sites.
