Opening with notes of vanilla custard, slate, and lemon peel on the nose, our Califa Chardonnay is inviting from the start. Buttery and luscious on the palate with warm notes of baking spices, red apple, and Bartlett pear balanced by a fresh acidity on the long finish.
Chamisal was the first vineyard planted in the Edna Valley in 1973 and now encompasses 80 acres planted to 4 varieties across three distinct soil types. Our Califa Chardonnay is sourced from blocks planted on rockier soils that reduce vigor in the vines that create intensity while retaining freshness and elegance. We consider these to be our very own “premier cru” blocks.
